Henk van Assen

Henk has been part of Moore DRV since 2016, where he leads the VAT and customs department. He graduated in tax law from the University of Groningen in 2008 and completed a post-master’s programme in indirect taxes at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2016. Over the course of his career, he has gained extensive experience at several advisory firms.

Within and outside the organisation, Henk acts as a key contact and sounding board for solving complex technical VAT and real estate transfer tax issues. He also manages the VAT and customs team.

Henk has broad experience in both national and international VAT matters, including restructurings, e-commerce transactions, VAT scans and real estate transactions, particularly where VAT and transfer tax interact. He regularly contributes to professional and technical publications, such as the BTW-bulletin and BTW-brief. In addition, he is frequently asked to deliver in-house VAT training courses and workshops.

In short, Henk is a highly skilled VAT specialist who provides clear and practical advice on all VAT-related matters. He has in-depth knowledge of Dutch and international VAT legislation and stays fully up to date with the latest developments and changes in tax law.
